Group Mahjong Lessons
Group lessons are $50 per person for a 2-hour session, for groups of 3 or more players, anywhere in the Milwaukee area. I recommend 3 sessions to go from never-touched-a-tile to running your own game night, and I bring everything: tiles, racks, cards, and mats.

The curriculum
What you’ll learn, session by session
Session 1
Tiles, the card & the wall
Meet the tiles (dots, bams, craks, winds, dragons, flowers, jokers) and learn to read the NMJL card without squinting. We build the wall, deal, and play your first guided hand before you leave.
Session 2
The Charleston
The famous passing ritual that makes American mahjong American. We drill it until it’s muscle memory, and you start learning to pick a hand and chase it.
Session 3
Gameplay, calling & jokers
Full games at real speed: calling for discards, exposing, joker swaps, and the etiquette that keeps a table friendly. By the end, you don’t need me anymore, which is the whole point.
